About Me
I, Duke Amarasena, a graduate who complete a Bachelor of Information Technology at Deakin University. I’m enthusiastic, creative, and have a passion for technology with a great attitude while demonstrating the ability to learn and adapt to change. I’m also a quick learner, strong team player with great organisational skills presented as well as equipped to handle and adapt to changing world. I believe I have strong skills in designing, specifically UIs and web design UIs as my passion and creativity influence me in creating unique designs.
I’m also a hard worker where I love to work in teams as well as independently and committed to giving everyone my full hundred percent to anything. Strong computer skills in most areas while demonstrating a strong willingness to learn new things, as I look forward to building my career in the world of IT.
My hunger and desire to learn and adapt new things drives me to be more passionate about all things but mostly IT. I believe my willingness to learn and adapt to new things make me strong candidate for the world of IT. My strong passion for computer and technology in general began when I was quiet young where it has been part of my life growing up. I decided to pursue my career of IT through going to school but lot of this passion came through my own doing where I tend to use my free time either programming or designing. It was these times that I realise my true passion in the IT world, which is to design, such as web designs or UI design where I enjoy taking something and making it unique.
Throughout my life, people would describe me as conservative, shy, and timid where in the past at time has led me to be sort of neglected and isolated from others. However, these things only kept me going and for wanting more in life and keeping me strong by reminding myself to never give up and be positive. I also received advice from my peers which were very influential and significant where I now believe I’m equip and ready to handle anything that life could throw at. All the advice received and the belief I had were significant as from the past to now have allowed to me achieve great things and fulfill my goals and hopes of achieving bigger accomplishments.
Despite my past endeavours and life lesson, I now would describe my self as strong and confident person who would give everything to a cause, where I now carry variety of interests that helps me be me. IT world aside, my interests are withing sports where my passion lies with soccer which I enjoy both playing and watching. Other interests of mine are music while I enjoy listening all types of music where I would describe myself as an all-rounder, but I also play instruments (piano, guitar, drums) which I still enjoy.
Having completed a lot of internships, volunteer work and doing IT work through my spare time, I’m very well suited for the IT world. The lessons, people, and client I encountered working through variety of organisations showed ways of handling real world IT related problems which were accomplished through technology and people. I personally have dealt with lot of problems and do enjoy being challenged as well as facing challenges that I will certainly encounter in the future. I believe I represent a strong set of skills that will justify my passion and the influence the world of IT has and carried on me.
